Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my own instrument?

Definitely - you will need it for at home practice. Owning your own instrument helps you dedicate yourself more fully to leaning to play. We have both new and used instruments available and affordability priced.
How old do you have to be to start?
Because we deal with band instruments, the players' physical size is a factor in choosing an instrument and how young they can start. We have however started some students as young as 7 years old and one at 83 years young. You're never too old!

Do I need previous experience?

No experience necessary. Our staff is friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated to making your learning experience fun and fulfilling. The student not only learns the mechanics of playing the instrument, but also interpretation and appreciation of what they are learning. The student also learns music theory, such as note values, scales, chords and much more. In addition, the student is taught about the care and maintenance of their instrument. We encourage the student to ask questions, and if you have something in particular you would like to learn, let the instructor know.
